The month of April brought a very special Baptismal Ceremony for Miss Tabitha! Mommy, Cece, Jack, Luke and Tabitha all wore our Chinese Outfits. It was a private Baptism on Easter Sunday, just for the Moran Family - Skip must have connections!!!! Thank you Skip, Father Gary, Sister Mary & St. Alan's Church. Skip & Shannon Moran were her God Parents. Father Gary explained that Tabitha was the first to receive the Holy Oils for the new year. Just before Easter - the Bishop gives each church a new set of Sacramental Oils. Jack & Luke got to be young Altar Boys that assisted Sister Mary. Our family also brought up the gifts during Mass. This day was so special...God Bless Tabitha!



After the ceremony, Luke asked me who's sister was Sister Mary?? Hmmm...let me think about that one...God's Sister.

The beginning of this month began with a trip to the allergist. After 32 small pricks in her back, that included testing for mold, dust mites, dairy, soy, peanut, corn, eggs, gluten, dog, cat and what ever else you can think of ... she showed up as having only a mild reaction to mold and peanuts. So, of course, having been officially cleared of the milk allergy, what did Mommy do? She went home and gave Tabitha an 8 oz bottle of pediasure in an effort to bulk her up - and within 12 hours Tabitha was coughing so hard and choking on too much flem. It was back to the Rice Milk & back to the pediatrician for a double ear infection. While we were there, I had Dr. T check her palate b/c sometimes food comes out of Tabitha's nose - a double uvula was noted (no problem) and thank goodness her palate was complete. The investigation continues. Next stop...the ENT. Did I mention she snores??

During the second week of April, Luke, Tabitha and I went to Hinsdale Hospital to get an x-ray of her head - to check the size of her adenoids - the pierced ears proved to be a bit of an issue - but all turned out well. We also had an appt. with Dr. M (ENT) and she looked at the x-ray and Tabitha's adenoids are quite large and obstructing her airway - so looks like we will be having surgery Tubes & Adenoids on April 30th.

During this month, we also began therapy with her physical therapist. We need her to do "high knee time" - don't encourage her to walk - work on her neck - and encourage her to move both ways - right & left - important work to get done b/4 she walks -lots of reps and weight lifting - need to strengthen her obliques - large muscle ridge in tummy.

Tabitha recognizes and plays "How big is Tabitha?", "Peek-a-boo" and "Patty-Cake". She also loves her dear baby doll. We were having alot of difficulty with sleep issues and the O.T. mentioned that I might still be able to get Tabitha to attach to something to help soothe her at night - but that the window for this opportunity was closing. We tried the baby doll & a bottle at night - so far this has seemed to work - It is so neat to see her attached to the baby doll. When we were at a party and other children were picking up her baby doll - she was obviously distressed and wanted it. When she is upset and wants to get out of the crib, first she hands me her bottle, then the baby and then she puts her hands up so I can get her out. It is so cute!
